Explosion in Sri Lanka

Explosion incident at two mosques in New Zealand has just subsided, and Sri Lanka's Christian Church and three five-star hotels got into the suffering of terrorist attacks that shocked the world, causing more than 310 deaths and more than 500 injuries.

According to local media, at 9 a.m. on April 21, 2019, eight explosions occurred in three five-star hotels and two churches in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and one church in the eastern city of Batticalo. And on the 22nd, the ninth explosion occurred in a church in Colombo, Sri Lanka, when local officials were trying to dismantle the bomb. At present, a series of explosions have caused more than 310 deaths and more than 500 injuries.

April 21 is Easter Day, a festival commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion, a festival symbolizing rebirth and hope. The church was full of devout Christians who were attending Easter ceremonies. When the explosion happened, the Christians had no time to escape. Sri Lanka's government decided to subsidize all victims (100,000 rupees (about 3,850 yuan) for the funeral of each victim). The injured will also be compensated, and the damaged churches would be repaired by the government.

 

         

 

According to police, as many as dozens of murderers were involved in the terrorist attack, and up to now 40 suspects have been arrested. The local extremist Islamic organization NTJ was accused by the government of being the one behind these attacks. Sri Lanka is still under a curfew, banning flights and access to social media and online information services. It is not clear when the curfew will end.
