Vietnam has attracted nearly $20 billion on foreign investment in 2020.

According to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam, as of August 20th, Vietnam had attracted $19.54 billion on foreign investment, which decrease 13% year-on-year. Among them, the actual amount of funds in place reached $11.3 billion, which is down only 5.1% year-on-year. According to the evaluation of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, global investment in 2020 may fall by 40%. The economic growth rates of many countries in the world have dropped sharply and even are suffering negative growth. The decline in Vietnam is far below the level of many countries.

It can be seen from this phenomenon that this is a positive signal, showing the belief and support from foreign investors to the investment environment in Vietnam. The import and export volume of foreign-funded enterprises dropped slightly year-on-year, with the amount of impots reached $113.3 billion, down 4.5% year-on-year; the amount of exports reached $90.7 billion, down 5.3% year-on-year. This shows that despite all the difficulties caused by the epidemic, foreign-funded enterprises still maintain benign production and operation activities, so the decline is not large.In addition, a total of 104 countries and regions invested in Vietnam in the first half of this year. It is an exaggeration to say that half of the world's capitalists have come to Vietnam.

Among them, Singapore is the largest source of investment, with an investment of $6.44 billion dollars, followed by South Korea and China with respectively an investment of $2.8 billion and $1.7 billion dollars. In terms of the number of new projects, South Korea ranked first with 421 projects, China ranked second with a total of 237 projects, and Japan ranked third with 175 projects.
